Product Review: Dish Towels by Robbie Craig's Northern Projects
I've been a big fan of Robbie Craig's artwork since I first discovered his nature-inspired creations on Facebook a few years ago. Craig's artwork is "inspired by the untouched and rugged landscape of Canada’s north and captures the essence of Canada's beauty in his own unique style." Craig, located in the Northwest Territories, creates wildlife and landscape artwork with a very distinct Canadian style. I love his use of lines and colour, and how he captures the spirit of the animals he brings to life in his work. He doesn't just create his art to hang on the wall, he also has other products available with his personal Canuck touch.
I ordered the Robbie Craig dishtowels online so I could let you know what I think! Keep reading for my product review. I also want to note that this is an independent review and I'm in no way affiliated with Robbie Craig's Northern Projects, nor am I being compensated by them in any way. With that being said, here we go!
Placing the order
I ordered directly from Robbie Craig's Northern Projects website. It was really easy to use. You can pay with a credit card or PayPal, so if you only have a debit card don't worry- you can shop his site! I did not get a confirmation email from his website that the order was placed, but I messaged their Facebook page to make sure and they responded very quickly that same day. I placed my order on April 12 and it arrived on April 29. I feel that during the Covid-19 crisis the shipping time is great! I ordered the dishtowels as a bundled deal- the With Love Bundle. You can still buy each dishtowel separately. Items ship to Canada and the USA, so even our neighbours across the border can brighten up their kitchen with some Canadian art!
Quality of the product
I was really impressed with the quality of the dishtowels. They're a lighter fabric but still seem very durable, and they're super soft! The towels are 100% cotton and are pretty big- they measure 20" x 30". I put one on Hazel's head so you can get an idea of the size! They look amazing- just like his artwork. The colours are vibrant and sharp. I also wanted to test out the usability of the product, because while they look nice, the plan is to actually use them as dishtowels. That was fun because I got to spill something on purpose! I tested them against a thicker dishtowel and they were almost equally as absorbent. The next step was to wash them.

How do they wash?
I washed them with some other towels on cold water in a front-load washing machine. I use eco-friendly laundry detergent and fabric softener that are very gentle. The colour in the dishtowels didn't bleed or fade. The stitching stayed secure and they looked just as good going into the washing machine as they did coming out. I machine dried them on low heat. These dishtowels held up as I would expect any well-made product to.
I give this product 10/10! It makes me want to order more items from Robbie Craig's Northern Projects- like the neck warmers, Christmas ornaments, and the adorable socks! These dishtowels would make a fantastic Mother's Day gift for any Canadian mom!
