Happy International Women's Day: Defining what being a woman means to you is a unique and personal journey
Womanhood is such an unpredictable journey. I continue to learn from the women in the past who paved the path of privilege that I walk on today. When I say they paved it, I mean it! They saw a path of dirt that wasn't good enough. They didn't know where it would lead. So they dug it up and ripped it apart. Burned it to ash. They levelled it out, trying to make it as even as possible. They mixed the asphalt with their blood, sweat, and tears, and paved their way through women's suffrage. We have a smooth road now, a direction to walk. Sometimes we still don't think we deserve to walk it.
It's 2021: Time to stop calling women hysterical
I was moderating comments on my blog and discovered a comment left on my article Real talk: Does a veterinary hospital have to see your pet?. It said the article was very "crass" and should have "a rant warning." To be fair, in the first paragraph of the article I state I'm aware I'm going to ruffle some feathers and the article may sound harsh. The male commenter then said the article was "obviously written by a hysterical woman. Yikes." After some consideration, I deleted it.
Happy International Women's Day!
Be strong! Be brave! Be the change!

Survey shows women prefer Valentine's kisses from pets over
kisses from partner
Who are you kissing this Valentine’s Day? Petplan pet
insurance thinks they know exactly who you will be more likely to kiss on the
sweetest of all holidays and it’s not your significant other.
According to a recent survey conducted by Petplan pet insurance 57% of
pet parents prefer Valentine’s Day kisses from their furry family members over
a kiss from their partner. It may seem like a lot but these numbers are down
from last year’s survey that concluded 62% of people prefer doggy or kitty
kisses over kisses from their two-legged lover. The findings of the survey were
released in a press release on Feb. 2.
