Whimsy blooms brightly in the Oxeye Floral Co. pressed flower art. Inspired by nature and created using nature's gifts, these unique prints take an old-school art technique and update it with a modern twist. This Chasing Whimsies featured artist brings wildlife and scenery to life one bud, petal, and vine at a time. These prints ensure the flowers never wilt or die; they are perfectly preserved with their vibrant colours intact and showcased for the world to enjoy. Are you ready to see some irresistible Canadian art?

Oxeye Floral Co. features pressed flower art, decor, and keepsakes, and the artist even creates gorgeous wedding keepsakes. Artist Ayla Graham began pressing flowers as a hobby, a skill learned from her grandmother, but it evolved into the magical art she sells today in her Etsy shop. Her ability to see find an image hidden in the flowers and use her imagination to create art out of organic material is truly a gift.

Her online catalog features several pieces that would add a bit of magic to a little girl's room. The pink flamingo for example, so bright and girly, would be great for the girl who is a little bit quirky and a whole lot of fun. The floral unicorn is perfect for the girl who still believes in magic. Not to mention the pink baby elephant that just demands to be hung in a nursery. Little boys are not ignored. The baby elephant is also created using blue flowers, and the dinosaur print is a boyish creation, despite its flowery arrangement. There's even a blue car, made of pressed flowers!

The artist primarily features wildlife in her art, arranging each flower, petal, and bud to create the shape of an animal, bird, insect, or marine creature. Majestic creatures like hummingbirds, foxes, deer, and whales are magically brought to life using dried flowers. But the artist also created blossoming art to pay tribute to sillier animals, like chickens, sloths, pigs, llamas, and even a hedgehog. Pets get love too- dogs and cats got a floral makeover!

It's not just animals that Graham features in her art. Ballet dancers and slippers crafted with floral arrangments grace the pages of her prints. Cars, coral, ice cream cones, and mountain scenery also received her flowery touch. She even created a pineapple out of pressed flowers! I'm stunned by her creative choices.

For those who like mystical, fantasy-inspired decor- like me- Oxeye Floral Co. has some magical pieces, like a very witchy-looking owl. She also has several skulls featured on her page, which is how her art originated. She has a whimsical floral moon, a flowery rainbow, and the previously mentioned unicorn. There's something for everyone!

It's no big deal if you don't have space on your wall for new art. The artist's selection has expanded recently to feature more than just art prints and keepsakes. Her art is now available on pillows, tea towels, baby blankets, and apparel. You can take her colourful creations with you everywhere you go!

I love that the artist is Canadian. A passion for nature is something that is deeply Canadian. It's obvious the artist has a true passion and appreciation for the natural world. She presses and dries flowers herself, arranges them into creatures of the wilderness, and develops art prints that look so real, you almost expect a gust of summer wind to blow the petals off the page.

Her shop received rave reviews and what buyers commonly say is the art was so much better than expected. I'm officially a fan of Oxeye Floral Co. and can't wait to call one of her blossoming creatures my own!
